Where ShieldLabs fits

Start at registration and login, then connect the same user identifier to sensitive actions. The useful output is the relationship between a returning device, a changed connection and an account event. A VPN flag becomes more useful when it appears beside device reuse or an unexpected account transition.

Collection and outputs

ShieldLabs combines network and device intelligence. Named risk signals feed a 0–100 risk score and Trusted, Suspicious or Dangerous classifications; high-risk events add account context. These are different outputs and should remain different fields in your integration.

Freshness and integration handling

Checks are collected with identifications rather than treating a long-lived list of IP addresses as the complete history of a user. Keep the time of each result and bind it to the action that triggered the check.

Strengths

Limits and plan conditions

Collection must be installed on the relevant journey. Size the identification budget around the checks you run.

What to check in a pilot

Compare ordinary repeat logins, a customer changing networks, one device using several test accounts, and a new device accessing an established account. Confirm the events appear on the intended user records and that your team can investigate the named reasons.

Use the evaluation framework to record collection completeness, the reasons returned and the customer outcome. Compare the cost of your actual checks, not just the number of accounts in your database.

Consider an alternative when

Your only missing component is an IP dataset or lookup inside an established investigation system. Compare the focused network services on the alternatives page, while retaining authentication and account history in your application.

FAQ

Does the free allowance reset every month?

The published entry offer is 5,000 free identifications. Do not assume a monthly reset. The SHIELDUSERS welcome code adds 50,000 bonus identifications for eligible new accounts.

What does an identification mean?

An identification is a visitor check. Plan capacity around the actions you check, rather than the number of registered accounts.

Can I inspect the product before integrating?

Use the linked product pages and ShieldLabs demos to explore the output, then run a pilot on a journey you control.
